This Request for Supplier Qualifications (“RFSQ”) is an invitation by Upper Canada District School Board (“UCDSB”) to prospective respondents to qualify for eligibility for GENERAL CONTRACTORS – Group A (Projects $100K-$500K) as further described in Section A of the RFSQ Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”).

The Board is interested in selecting experienced and reputable GENERAL CONTRACTORS - OVER $100K, who will be pre-qualified for a three (3) year period to carry out various renovation, facilities upgrades and infrastructure renewal projects at all Board locations.

With more than 80 buildings, our Design & Construction Department has the responsibility to ensure that students and employees have a safe, clean and comfortable learning environment. The Board prides itself on delivering projects that are on time and on budget, and has strong working relationships between consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors.

UCDSB is interested in pre-qualifying firms who embody the same values, especially when it comes to innovation, customer focus, workmanship, collaboration, and managing construction that is safe, organized and environmentally conscious.

UCDSB is seeking to pre-qualify experienced and reputable General Contractors to perform renovation and/or addition projects at school facilities with an estimated construction value of over $100,000. 

This pre-qualification process is intended to identify contractors with a proven track record in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction sector who possess the technical expertise, resources, and capacity to deliver high-quality construction projects within occupied school environments. 

UCDSB is not seeking project management firms or construction managers acting solely in an oversight capacity, but rather full-service General Contractors capable of directly managing and executing construction work in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and Board standards. 

The outcome of this process will be a roster of qualified General Contractors eligible to bid on upcoming school renovation and addition projects across the district.
